Hello, I am running as a user and not administrator on my Windows 7 machine. I get the notifications of updates and when I click the button to update, it seems to go through the routine of the update, but when finished, the update date has not installed. It does not seem to ask me for the administration password to run the update? Each time I have to manually download a full version from your web site and run the install. Also at that point it does ask me for the administration password to complete the install. Is there a way to run as a user and let the auto updates install?

Thanks Jr

Firefox doesn't need admin privileges to update. I assume you have tried the "about firefox" under Menu> Help (the help button will look like a question mark). Try starting in safe mode if you haven't already.

If these don't help please reply back.

Did you install the maintenance service properly in download and install updates in the background?

If updating Firefox isn't working properly then this could be that the maintenance service isn't installed and enabled properly or not allowed in security software.

The maintenance service can be uninstalled separately, it shows up as a new item under add/remove programs.

You can try to uninstall and reinstall the maintenance service as a user by running the installer file in the Firefox program folder.

Hello,

I activated the auto update in the background. I will see if it successful.

Thank you, JR
