When I navigate to www.google.com, the enter key no longer submits the search after typing in the search bar, it is now necessary to manually press the search button. Then, on the search results display page, typing a new search into the bar on top will never submit, either with the enter key, or by pressing the search button, it simply doesn't attempt to load any new page. I have restarted the computer, run antivirus software, removed and reloaded Firefox, even attempted to downgrade to Firefox 3.6, nothing helps.

This problem happens only with Firefox. Internet Explorer and Google Chrome have no difficulty.

My operating system is Windows Vista, Service Pack 2, if that helps.

I got it. It was a Google redirect virus masquerading as the XULRunner 1.9.1 extension. Just disabled then removed it, works fine now.
