I noticed when I make certain changes to videos such as mute them or lower the volume of a YouTube video, that change doesn't stay, like when I change to another YouTube video the sound goes back to its max. Why is this happening? Is there a fix for this issue?

Make sure that you keep YouTube cookies and also have enabled local (DOM) storage.

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
more options

I checked Dom storage enabled in aboyt:config and it is set to true already, I just installed firefox and adobe flash, but the problem still occurs. It's only on firefox not on other browsers...

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode.

  • Tools > Options > Privacy: Use custom settings for history
  • Deselect: [ ] "Always use private browsing mode"

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":

  • do not clear Cookies

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Thank you for the quick response :)

But I've done all of the suggestions and I still have this issue. Also twitch.tv livestreams and videos don't work for some reason could this be related?

I tried to change settings using the first link, but It seems like they won't change. Website Storage Settings are set to none, and it's not letting me change it to Unlimited.

Try to clear the Flash LSO folder(s) manually.

Delete the macromedia.com and #SharedObjects folders to reset all Flash cookies and settings.

  • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\
  • %AppData%\Macromedia\Flash Player\

I deleted the folders but It still didn't work. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled flash player, but the problem still persists.

Also I have 32 bit flash installed if it makes any difference

I have been having a similar problem. Ever since I upgraded to 19.0 FIrefox will NOT list cookies in the cookies window and thus they cannot be deleted.

Please, Mozilla, fix this problem.
