Why can't I find a place to single space my e-mail composition..ever since the upgrade it always double spaces.

Also, I can no longer print from the composition , I have to go to print preview then print..a real pain.

Paragraph Spacing

In earlier versions of Thunderbird, the Enter key inserted a line break rather than creating a new paragraph. Now Enter creates a new paragraph and Shift+Enter inserts a break between lines in the same paragraph. This was changed to conform with the way most HTML editors work now.

If you prefer the old way, there is a checkbox for that in the Options/Preferences dialog:

Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Thunderbird menu) > Preferences

At the top click Composition, then the General mini-tab

At the bottom of the HTML section, uncheck the box next to "When using paragraph format, the enter key creates a new paragraph" and click OK to save the change.

Printing a Draft Message

Based on a reply I read the other day, this was broken by accident and is expected to be fixed in the next release.

Thank you.. but I can print from draft but not from the composition..after I type an e-mail to a customer where I need to print out a hard copy before I send it I can't I have to go to print preview to print it..just an extra step that is a hassle.. I used to be able to just click on file-print, now I can't.

Hi quailady1, I don't know when a new version of Thunderbird will be released to fix this -- I couldn't find the date in a quick search. It could be a few weeks, since the updates usually are 6-8 weeks apart and we're counting from April 12th.

Hi, Thank you for trying to help.. it is a real pain.. I do hope they are aware of it and fix it ! Just one more step to take in a busy day. Everything was working just fine until they "fixed" it :)
