Recently forced to update MAC OS to Big Sur, then Thunderbird stopped connecting. Thunderbird asks for a password that i enter correctly (works when directly logging into Gandi) but will not accept. No option on entering user name, just password. Contact@kencorm.org

I thought there might be a problem with Thunderbird 133.0, so I attempted to install version 130 over it. I was told it was incompatible with version 133.0, so I uninstalled version 133.0 and installed version 130.

Since then, Lightning Calendar has been missing, even when I reinstalled version 133.0. The Events and Tasks tab is missing. Calendar does not appear in Add-ons and Themes. There is no trace of it anywhere. I uninstalled Tbird, deleted all of the folders for it and reinstalled Tbird, again. No luck.

why do l have to click on inbox message twice so that it can open the message , this happens intermittently l have to go back and forth to mail address and then back to inbox message a couple of time before it can open inbox message

i'm using:

Thunderbird 128.5.2esr (64-bit) Kubuntu 24.04 KDE Plasma 5.115.0 Qt 5.15.13

when i get attached files, like .jpg, .png, or .pdf, i can see that the message has an attached file, but thunderbird no longer opens those files, or knows how to make other applications, like okular, gwenview, or inkscape open them. this USED TO BE a standard feature.

1. receive an attached file: FILE-NAME.pdf

at the bottom of the window is a bar that says "1 attachment: FILE-NAME.pdf 3.8 kB"

2. click on FILE-NAME.pdf

EXPECTED RESULT: FILE-NAME.pdf opens in okular

ACTUAL RESULT: nothing

3. alternate-click on FILE-NAME.pdf and choose "Open" from the context menu

EXPECTED RESULT: FILE-NAME.pdf opens in okular

ACTUAL RESULT: nothing

4. alternate-click on FILE-NAME.pdf and choose "Save as..." from the context menu, and save the file somewhere obvious.

5. navigate to somewhere obvious, and open the file

RESULT: FILE-NAME.pdf opens

i looked at "Settings -> General -> Files & Attachments" and confirmed that "Portable Document Format (PDF)" is set to "Use okular". i also deleted, and re-added "Portable Document Format (PDF)" from "Settings -> General -> Files & Attachments" with no change in the above reported behaviour.

Thunderbird just changed the number of emails that show when I open my comcast email account. Before, it was at least 5 displayed. Now it is 3 with an enlarged area for the email info. I find this very inconvenient to be able to see only 3 emails. I don't need the larger area for the email text. I can open the email and see it. Is there a way I can adjust this? Thank you, Sally

Dear Thunderbird:

I have used Thunderbird for years. I click on Attach to add images to my email. To check the attachments, I would double click on each one and it would open in my Microsoft Photo Viewer for Windows. However, now instead of opening the image, I get Adobe Acrobat Reader Home page and no image.

Has something changed in Thunderbird ? Or is there a simple setting I can change with your coaching ?

I've Thunderbird installed after it was deinstalled by a fail installation routine. On yesterday during this new install thunderbird has recovert the mails but only up to siste month May. The account on gmail isn't available completely.

Is there a possibility to try a completely recovery again.

This is an Ubuntu /Oracular OS. koffie

What do you understand by "restoring" email? Recover lost email? Recover deleted mail? Download email?

The compose screen opens with several lines of text and characters. The gibberish will clear, but it will always populate the compose screen when invoked. In de nieuwste Thunderbird versie zie je een bericht en daarna het antwoord gegroepeerd worden. Dit wil ik uitschakelen en diverse artikelen hierover gelezen. Echter, het werkt niet. Als ik het vinkje voor "conversaties" uitzet en toepas op "kolommen"en ook geprobeerd op "Huidige weergave", dat blijven de emails samengevoegd staan, heel irritant.

Is dit ergens anders aan te passen zodat je het antwoord gewoon als apart bericht ziet bovenaan? Ik draai Windows 11 en via IMAP.

Przy próbie dodania konta email w aplikacji Thunderbird wyskakuje komunikat błędnym haśle, loginie lub ustawieniach. Na innym PC wszystko działa a na tym konkretnym nie chce. Dodam że jest tu system Windows Serwer 2022. Czy to on może sprawiać problem?

Send Later release notes recommends "configure Thunderbird to store your drafts under Local Folders rather than in your IMAP account" to avoid a bug.

How do I do that?
