Today I am trying to send an email with a file attachment that has the extension .exe I've never had this problem before and I am trying to figure out why. When I first turned on my computer this morning (Jan 1) I got a message about an application not able to start - it was Norton. I resolved that - I hope - but the file I was trying to send unsuccessfully was also flagged by Norton when I copied it from one computer to another here. Does Thunderbird interact with Norton in this way? Or do you think maybe the web site that I use for my email service might be responsible..I will ask them this same question also. I know you can't speak for anybody but Thunderbird, I am just trying to narrow this down. Well, happy new year............. Thanks everyone!

Hi, I'm using TB version 128, been a TB user for many years and contribute money regulaly to TB since I love the software and see it as valuable. But trying to use it on my laptop that I bought over a year ago with a hi-resolution monitor is frustrating. I've read all the related posts here about how to "fix" this as well as anything I could find online, tried all the settings in TB, but nothing fixes my issue, nor does it for the many, many other users I'm hearing from as I read online about this far too common problem. When I read a new message all is well as far as the size of the text, but when I reply the font is reduced to an unreadable size unless you have the eyes of Superman. Same thing happens when I compose a new message. On each and every message, I have to repeatedly use the CTRL + keys to increase the text size. I have changed the default setting in layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 1.5, and that helps with the general interface, but has zero effect on the text size issue. I have also tried every "fix" listed in this support site as well as many others (Reddit, etc.), and nothing will fix this annoying issue. I want to compose or read ALL my messages in the same readable text size, and I can't believe that Thunderbird's developers can't correct this simple problem. Does anyone have any idea how to set the default text and get it to "stick" vs reverting to tiny text?

I use Thunderbird to download messages from gmail.com. Thunderbird has begun to download and immediately drop some of the messages. I see the downloaded heading and then it disappears from the inbox. Some dropped messages are from sources that I regularly have received from. Because I see the message heading and then it is gone, I believe the problem lies with Thunderbird. Perhaps a setting needs to be changed? How can I fix this? Thanks, John H

Hallo liebes Team! Ich suchte eine Mailadresse von Thunderbird, um zu erfahren, was mit all meinen Mails passiert ist, fand aber keine. Das Problem: Ich hatte ursprünglich Unterordner angelegt mit rechtem Mausklick und alle Mails dort abgelegt. Leider scheint es diese Funktion und damit auch die Ordner nicht mehr zu geben. Ich kann darauf also nicht mehr zugreifen, sie sind nicht da, rechter Mausklick links ist tot.

Dafür sind nun im Order Gesendet = über 800 und im Ordner Gesendet = fast 800 aufgelistet, ohne dass ich auf sie zugreifen kann, wenn ich in der im Bildschirm sichtbaren Auflistung bis ganz nach unten gescrollt habe. Früher gab es unten eine Leiste, wo man die Seiten zurückblättern konnte, auch die ist verschwunden.

Wo sind all die Unterordner mit meinen wichtigen Mails? Und wie lege ich neue Unterordner an?

I saved an iCalendar file from my Outlook calendar, I went to tools/import in Thunderbird. I am at step 3 which says, "Select the ICalendar (.ics) file yu would like to import." Te first time I did this step, I selected the file and almost immediately I saw the results. But, then I thought maybe I wanted to increase the date range of my Outlook calendar. After doing so, I went back to tools/import in Thunderbird to import that file. Now, when I do that at step 3, Thunderbird seems to "freeze." I see no results for the iCalendar having been imported. If I wait several minutes, Thunderbird now allows me to go to my mail tab, but I still no import of my Outlook calendar. What did I do wrong?

my last backup belongs to months ago, so I lost all important emails. How to recover it I do not know. Any advice ?

I downloaded and installed Thunderbird for Android on my mobile (OnePlus Open) and imported my settings from my Thunderbird desktop. All four of my accounts showed up in the mobile app. During this process, the "Log In" button was grayed out. However, all I'm seeing is "Unified Inbox" and "Outbox" folders, and no email. What login or installation step am I missing?

When I move or copy an email from one Exchange account to another the content of the email is wiped (my other non-Exchange accounts are all fine). It happens on all my devices one running Windows 10 and one running Windows 11. It happens across all versions of Thunderbird (have re-installed etc). It started occurring on 26-Sep-24. Have been in correspondence with Boenex (re: OWL) since then but dialogue getting nowhere.

I have been using Tbird for 10 years and really like the program. I am having to start using Outlook, which I dislike. If it can’t be fixed then I will be forced to abandon Thunderbird altogether and stop my donations. I don’t know where to go from here. Is anyone able to point me in the right direction?

When I opened Thunderbird today, I was greeted by an empty screen, no E-Mails.

When I receive Mails, I still get notifications and when I click them, a new fullscreen tab with the E-Mail is displayed and when I close it, I'm back to the empty screen.

I have restarted my computer since. I was able to access my E-Mails via other clients, so I could do my work, but it's still really disrupting right now.

Attached you find multiple images, one of the empty screen, one of the other tabs working (contacts) and one of my accounts being properly setup.

Now, when I used the troubleshooting mode to reset my toolbars, it suddenly started working again. However, a new problem: Now the grouped view no longer works, and this time I was unable to restore the functionality.

When I try to enable it, nothing happens and when I open that menu again, the checkbox is gone.

Recently, all email posts in Thunderbird disappear when you delete one of the emails. Only when you reopen Thunderbird are the entries available again. Is there a solution to this?

Recently, I set up two-step verification on my Microsoft account. Since my e-mail server is not connected to Microsoft, I was able to continue using Thunderbird without issue. However, after having signed in to my Xbox account after not accessing it for several months, I became unable to login to my e-mail server, as it failed to accept my password or any other I put in.

After searching for solutions, the general consensus I found was that Thunderbird was attempting to connect to Microsoft's servers, but couldn't because its authentication method was set to 'Normal Password'. I've tried changing my authentication method, but changing my authentication method to anything other than 'Normal Password' gives me a 'Your e-mail provider does not support this authentication method' message.

I've had this problem before (see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1432194), which happened after I set up two-step verification initially, but i don't know how I solved the problem before, and obviously it wasn't a permanent solution.

What I find strange is that, since I don't use an Outlook account, this issue either shouldn't be happening at all, or I shouldn't have been able to regain access in the first place.

I'm not sure what to do next. Since my provider apparently doesn't support OAuth2, is there anything I can do about this, or am I pretty much sunk? Any help would be appreciated.

Specs: E-mail provider: Spectrum (Listed as "Roadrunner/TWC") E-mail server: mail.twc.com, IMAP, SSL/TLS, Port 993, Normal Password Outgoing server: mail.twc.com, IMAP, STARTTLS, Port 587, Normal Password ISP Provider: Charter Communications OS: Windows 10 Thunderbird version: 128

It was never fully recovered, but most of the sub folders were recovered and exist at imap.comcast.net with the original content. Thunderbird does not show these sub folders under it's Inbox, any idea why? Anyway, since then, thunderbird Inbox will not allow me to create a folder that has a name listed in the imap.comcast.net list of sub folders. any idea why that is. I can still access email via a webmail browser. I have tried deleting and reinstalling thunderbird, checked the settings multiple times, and changing some value to true (some post I found here on the forums). Any ideas?

I recently noticed that all my emails from August 2023 through March 2024 have disappeared. They are missing from all folders - Inbox, Sent, Trash, all folders including everything in pop, imap accounts, and all local folders. Messages from before 8/2023 and after 3/2024 are all there. I noticed that there is a folder in Program Data called Mozilla-1de4eec8-1241-4177-a864-e594e8d1fb38. In that folder is a subfolder updates > 308046B0AF4A39CB > backgroundupdate which is dated August 15, 2023. This is the exact date that is the start of my missing emails. Could an update have caused my problem? If so, is there a remedy? Thunderbird 128.5.2esr, Windows 11 Home 24H2 build 21600.2605

Also, in my address book view, all my sub-address books disappeared. I can still access the groups when I identify them in the address line, but I can no longer see them in the address box.
