I have a number of accounts putting mail into a "Local Folders" inbox. When sending a new email or replying the same account linked to local folders is always listed as the sending address even if I am replying to an email sent to a different address.Of course I can change to sending address but I would prefer it to use the sending address to which the original email was sent. I would also like a different default sending address to be used for a new message. In the accounts setting tab the address being used as the default has a gold star by its name. I assume that is the marker showing it is the default. How do I change this to a different account?

I am using Thunderbird for my Google Workspace Business Standard (GWBS) account because certain things, like navigation, searching, mail merge, and others are much nicer with TB than with the Gmail browser interface. I created the account in TB in the usual way, with no special tweaking of the settings. I routinely need to send messages to the 167 members of our program. The problem is that when I try to do so using TB, I get the error in the first attached image. The actual recipient limit for my GWBS account is 2000 per message, and there is no problem sending messages to 167 recipients using the Gmail web interface.

I chatted with GW support about this and was told by the agent that "you have added 167 recipients in a single email, by using a third party IMAP server you can only 100 recipient's. Here's a shortened version of that link: https://bit.ly/3UPAYWJ. I believe the part of that page the agent is referring to is in the second attached image, specifically the first one.

However, the server settings for this account in TB are the ones in the third image, which doesn't seem to me to be a third party IMAP server. Has anyone else come up with a solution for this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For some reason I lost the ability to view photos in my email. All I see is a white blank box. If I want to look at something, I have to open the photo in new browser. I spend a lot of time looking at and ordering electronic components and I need to see these items in my mail rather opening them up in a browser. Could you please tell how to reset this thing so I can view the photos in my mail?

I am new to TB and just getting used to the settings coming from Outlook. I assume that when a message is delete in the inbox the next message can be displayed in the viewing pane. This is not happening for me. I have tried: Not having messages Threaded. Setting: mail.advance_on_delete mail.delete_matches_sort_order mail.advance_on_spacebar All to True. No joy so far!

What am I missing?

Since the latest Thunderbird update (128.4.2esr (64-bit)) in Ubuntu (Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS Wayland), it no longer responds to hovering over *any* boundary of any pane. I've restarted Thunderbird, and I've rebooted the machine, but to no avail. Panes can't be resized -- not horizontally, and not vertically.

It could be that the zone for resizing has been reduced to less than a pixel and that my low-res mouse in my aging hand just isn't precise enough to grab an edge. Is there an option somewhere to display easy-to-grab (and easy-to-see) handles on pane boundaries for those of us with old eyes, unsteady hands and crappy non-gamer mice?

At the very least, I need a clear cursor change when "in the zone" for grabbing and dragging, otherwise I'm liable to grab an email message and drag it instead (with potential data loss).

Suddenly, possibly due to an update but unsure (started on 6th November), my emails no longer sent in Thunderbird due to the above message. I am still receiving emails in Thunderbird. I have checked all of this with plusnet and as I can send and receive without problems in webmail, this is being seen as not a plusnet issue. In terms of trying to resolve, I have tried adding my password in to the box, have tried checking all of my smtp settings against those advised to no avail. Has something changed... There seems to be many similar threads but not sure if mine is the same so creating a new thread.

Seeking knowledge if possible, on how to import email sub-folder contents from another email provider (in this case, 'The Messaging Company') into Thunderbird. The "Import Tool" in Thunderbird appears limited to only a few sources that it can import from, however I'm unsure if there is another way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My display of Thunderbird is overrsized in width, probably not significantly but enough that I am missing text. Normally this is not a major concern but I was checking out a rule applied to incoming mail and could see features to the right. I am using W11 operating system on an HP Spectre.

I checked the Config Editor in settings and "layout.css.devPixelsPerPx" is not bold and is set at -1. How can reduced the width of the display?

I face an issue with calendar invitations. I have a bunch of calendars, all CalDAV, for different purposes. Now when I recieve an invite, to one of my email adresses, the invitation ends up in the wrong calendar.

There are some other questions related to this problem around, but they all seem to be solved by setting the correct E-mail adress in the calendar setting which does not work in my case. Infact I changed the email adress of the wrong calendar to "none" and another calendar is linked to the correct e-mail. I already resarted Thunderbird, to check if that makes a difference.

Further, I would in general like to have the option to switch invited appointments from one to another calendar sometimes. As said I use several different calendars an sometimes invites come in from one e-mail adress taht would fit better to a different calendar. Is there a way to do that? For what I see now there is now way to assign an invited appointment manually to a different calendar.

Running Thunderbird 128.4, working good, quite happy with the Calendar feature.

When printing a monthly calendar, the output includes the previous and following month dates, events, and tasks in the printout. If the first of the month falls on a Saturday, then the preceding days Sunday-Friday are from the previous month, and they are shown and printed in the output. Likewise at the end of the month.

Is it possible to change a setting so that these cells are blanked or greyed out in some manner when printing? Or is there some add-on that further lets you tweak calendar options?
