When I go to Tools, options, privacy, and don't remember history it wont stay but continues to give history. How do I fix it

When I click on Tools then options and then privacy and select to Not to remember history it wont stay. I changes even though I click "ok" I go back and it has changed to remembering. How can I make it stay in effect. I did clear all history. Mike

Extensions that may cause problems, disable if present

Your options are not sticking so it is probably Corrupt localstore.rdf

-> click Firefox button and click Options -> Privacy -> History section -> Firefox will: select "Use Custom Settings for History" -> REMOVE Checkmark from Permanent Private Browsing mode -> place Checkmarks on:

1) Remember my Browsing History 2) Remember Download History 3) Remember Search and Form History 4) Accept Cookies from sites 4a) Accept Third-party Cookies -> Keep Until : select They Expire

-> REMOVE CHECKMARK from CLEAR HISTORY WHEN FIREFOX CLOSES

-> click OK on Options window -> Restart Firefox

Check and tell if its working.
