When I installed and started Thunderbird for Android, it presented an option to import configuration. I selected that option then chose the option to do it from an app and chose K-9. That option failed. I was however able to go to K-9 and do a settings export then go back to Thunderbird and do an import from file. That was then successful.

Should the import from app have worked? Is there more information I can provide?

When I imported a config file exported from K-9 into Thunderbird for Android only the Outbox folder was shown. After exploring some options in the gear menu (thus consuming a little time) the folder list still hadn't populated. I set the phone aside for a time and came back to it. The folders had been populated. I suspect that it may have waited the Folder Poll Frequency time period (15 minutes in this case) but I don't know this for a fact. Initial setup should retrieve the folder names immediately. This will provide feedback that the setup/import was successful.

When I mark messages for deletion or other operations they are highlighted using a shade of gray which is almost indiscernible from the other gray shades used for messages in the message list. How can I change the highlight color? In K-9 it's pink and it stands out clearly.

I was configuring 8.0b1 on my Pixel 6a with the September Android update. Over a dozen accounts. There was one that I could not change the Account Name (under General Settings) to a different string. Trying several different strings, all caps, all lowercase, mixed case etc did not hold when I went back to the previous settings menu list of my existing accounts.

It was the 4th or 5th account name I had changed during that configuration session. If that matters.

I did a swipe away close action, and restarted Thunderbird Beta, and the last name I had used showed up. From then on it worked, but I did not need to change any more.

Maybe this will help someone else or the devs figure out what might have glitched during my configuration.
