After shut down on Mac Air, all Bookmarks vanish

more options

After shutting down my new Mac Air, upon restart, Firefox comes up "Welcome" as if I've never used it before and all of my bookmarks and history are gone. When I follow the promps and login to Firefox, I still get all the wecome info and now bookmarks. How do I get these back after a restart and why doesn't the browser just launch on restart without going back to Welcome? Help. And thanks.
