Message example (F8) turned off. Preference is not saved.
Every time I open Thunderbird, the message example (F8 button) is shown. If hidden, it remains like this untill I open the program again. Somehow this preference is not saved ?

The F8 button toggles the message pane in Tbird. Maybe your preference settings are not saved?

Press F1 in Thunderbird and see were you get.
