I am assuming that Thunderbird has create and is using a new profile folder as the old one was not available.

To confirm this assumption, use the button in the troubleshooting tab (on the help menu) to open the profile folder. IS the folder opened your "old" profile folder?

I recovered the old profile but when I put it in the App Data folder, TB didn't upload my info. I had to recreate my email then replace the new Profile Folder with the recovered one. It brought in exactly 1 year of emails into the inbox but no folders. The large files in the screen shot were actually folders full of emails

That does not answer the question I asked!.

Is the profile folder Thunderbird is using and the one those screen shots are extracted from the same folder.

I gave you the steps to follow. Follow them and answer the question I asked of you, if you want support. More background is of no interest at this point. Is Thunderbird using the same profile folder. The answer to that will most probably be no. But I am sick of guessing in these forums I want answers so I can move forward to a solution. without assuming I know what is happening.

So if you have two profiles, you now have to make a choice.

To use the old profile, or try and import bits of the old one into the new one.

The first option is by far the easiest, but because you have added accounts to the new profile reverting to your old profile will loose any mail that has arrived in the intervening time.

To use the old profile simple use the profile manager to create a new profile, but specify the old profiles location for the new profile.

To attempt to merge parts of the old profile you will need to install the Import Export Tools add-on and use it to import your mail based on the folders it is stored in. But that will only get mail, not contacts.

Contacts requires another add-on. from the same author

Maybe if you read my comments rather than acting like a maniac you would know that this is not a solution for my problem. The lost emails in ANY profile I use, create, recover etc are File Folders (.com) or MSF Files (.msf). I worked on this for a week prior to posting the question

MSF files are index files. They do not contain mail. Never have. I have no knowledge of .com files in a Thunderbird profile.

I will just leave quietly. Clearly you think you are saying things you are not and know things you do not. I am sorry to have wasted your valuable time. You have a solution. Refusal to use or try it is not a failure of the solution.

If anyone else around here wants to take a shot at this, please see the original question & attachment. Importing the old/recovered profile does nothing, importing pieces bit by bit does nothing. Once I recovered the deleted profile, the folders & thus, the emails became extensions that do not work in TB. I am in search of anyway to get them back. The odd thing is that exactly 1 year of emails came in but no nothing other than that

Hi Aran,
I'll see if I can help. :)

1. On your destination profile, create sub-folders in the Local Folders account for each folder you want to import.
2. Close Thunderbird.
3. In your old profile, go to the \Mail\ folder, then the folder for the account you want to import. It should be named after the server. (For example /Mail/pop.mail.yahoo.com/)
4. Copy the files in that folder to your desktop.
5. Open Thunderbird, go to Help > Troubleshooting Information, click on [Show Folder], and close Thunderbird. That will open your current profile folder in Windows Explorer.
6. In your profile, go to the \Mail\ folder, then the \Local Folders\ folder.
7. There should be files for each folder you want to import that you created in step 1. In this step replace the those files with the ones from your desktop. They should have the same names.
8. Open Thunderbird. In your Local Folders account, you should see folders/messages from your old profile. At that point, you can drag and drop the messages between folders within Thunderbird.
