As of 2 days ago, TB now shows all Yahoo Mail imap folders & re-unsubscribe doesn't work
I've been using Thunderbird for a long long time and have always had many imap accounts setup, including a Yahoo Mail account.
As of just the other day (I believe Tues, June 7, 2022), suddenly and unexpectedly, Thunderbird 91.10.0 (64-bit) began showing ALL of my mail folders in the Yahoo account on the server, when I have always had many folders hidden (in unsubscribed state).
I have Thunderbird installed on 4 computers, and, as I launched TB on each of them, the displayed Yahoo folders updated to all folders on each computer (I had originally set up my profile on one computer and then later copied it to each of the others).
When I go into the TB yahoo account settings to re-unsubscribe and apply the settings and then restart TB, all folders remain showing... I cannot seem to get TB to once again unsubscribe to the folders I'm not interested in seeing in TB.
For reference, other imap accounts I have configured in the same profile remain with the same subscribed/unsubscribed settings I've always had.
If anyone has any ideas or explanations or a recommended fix, I'm all ears! ty!

Same thing for me on my one YAHOO account, and all three of my AOL accounts, but not my GMAIL account. But they did not change all at once. Started a few days ago, and every day another one seemed to change. When I look, every folder is set to SUBSCRIBE and nothing I do can get them to UNSUBSCRIBE. Quite a pain since I had lots of hidden/unsubscribed folders, and now the lists are real long and require lots of scrolling. Could this be a YAHOO/AOL configuration change as opposed to a TBird issue?
Same for me on Thunderbird at home for my personal AOL account, and Thunderbird at work for our Yahoo account.
Same issue on Thunderbird 91 with two AT&T/Yahoo accounts. Just upgraded to 102.1.2 and was hoping it was fixed, but problem still exists.
(Edited) Glad to find this post and realize it's an issue for others as well.

Same for me. I cannot unsubscribe to dozens of AOL folders. This is with 102.2.0 (64-bit) on Mac OS 12.5.1
I noticed it couple of months ago as well. I modified the account setting so that I do not use any folders other than Inbox, Sent, Bulk, and Trash. But I kept getting Draft, Archive, and Junk folders in addition to the 4 that wanted. I am also unable to unsubscribe to those folders either.
Also, that Junk folder was a bit of mystery. My junk mail folder is supposed to be Bulk. I went to mail.yahoo.com to see how the yahoo's server is setup, and over there, the junk folder was named Spam. So which is it? Bulk? Spam? Where did Junk folder come from. The mail app on my iPhone says Junk. Ughhh.... After some wrangling, I decided to delete the yahoo account from my iPhone mail app, then re-added account back. Now, the Junk folder is not there. The server (as seen from mail.yahoo.com web page) says "Spam". It syncs to mail app on my iPhone as "Junk" folder. And on my TB running on Mac, it shows up as "Bulk". All seem to be the same folder, all in sync, but with different name. Seems like a terrible way to handle things, but I'm giving up on making sense of it.
I just want to be able to unsubscribe to the other folders that I'm not using. I'm currently on TB 102.2.0 (64-bit) version.
Just upgraded to TB 102.2.2 (64-bit) and it still is broken.
This problem has been around for so many months. When can we have a fix via the new releases? Otherwise they just contain new stuff that we don't need.
