The drafts folder wont load and prompts a notification that reads "connection to server imap.netfirms.com timed out" after 15 or so seconds. All the other folders load immediately and there is no issue sending and receiving emails. There are only 3 emails in the drafts folder and there is no issue loading the drafts folder through roundcube email so the problem seems to be with thunderbird.

What's the size of the Drafts folder on disk anyway?

What is your anti-virus software?

Not sure about the size of the drafts folder but we had netfirms clear it out so it shouldn't be a issue with size or too many emails to load. We use the windows antivirus software that comes with the computer and apparently we have antivirus software from telus. For some more context we had a geek squad agent try to sort out the issue. He ran a virus scan which came up with nothing and he checked all the server settings and they were correct. We even tried a few other combinations of server settings but it didn't resolve the issue. I tried logging into the email using outlook instead of thunderbird and everything worked fine so that seems to reinforce the likely hood that the issue is with thunderbird. We've uninstalled and reinstalled thunderbird twice now and that didn't help either. We would switch to outlook but my boss, who is the user of thunderbird and the one experiencing these issues, doesn't like outlook and doesn't want to learn a new email layout so finding a solution to the thunderbird issue would be preferred. Thanks!

Try to start Windows 10 in safe mode with networking enabled.

Does the problem go away?

Windows safe mode disables anti-virus software. This is a troubleshooting step, not a solution.
