my.yahoo.com is my home page. When I open firefox it goes to my.yahoo.com/?_bc=1. This means I have to sign in every time I open the page with my user name and pass word - rather than going to my home page.

Make sure that you do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the 'Cookies' and the 'Site Preferences'.
