I often use the Sync function to bring open tabs over from my smartphone to my desktop computer. I have noticed over the past month or so, this functionality has become increasingly unreliable and sometimes does not function at all. At the moment I have no synced tabs showing on my desktop. I have signed out and back in to Mozilla on both my smartphone and desktop multiple times, checked the sync settings, and nothing seems to resolve this. There have been a couple Firefox updates on both the desktop and mobile side, none of which have changed this behavior.

Has anyone else been experiencing this? What other trouble shooting steps can I perform? Any help is much appreciated.

Hello, When i get during the login process the "Authorize this sign-in Check your email for the authorization code sent to ⁨...." sign, it always result that afterward the account button shows "Account disconnected" sign, the browser not being able to sync my data.

I had that problem through every version of Firefox (Nightly, Beta, ...) on Debian, using the APT-Repo of Mozilla.

If i try to reconnect my account it results in a new request of "Authorize this sign-in Check your email for the authorization code sent to ⁨....".

Also this request feels like a joke to me, if i am asked for my TOTP-Code oder my YubiKey after the "Authorize this sign-in"-request.

Okay, so imagine this: - You want to go do something on a website, say Bacefook (as a demonstration). So you go search up "Bacefook", and enter. - You use the Google search engine, as it does the job. However, you notice it has been taking a few seconds longer than anticipated. - Your internet times out and returns an unknown host error. - You refresh, and suddenly the website perfectly loads.

Sometimes it even takes more than one refresh to get it to load normally! And this is not limited to the google search engine. It happens on all sorts of websites. There is near ZERO pattern to when it happens to not, and if I recall, it happens on other Wi-Fi networks as well, so this is a client-side issue.

And lastly, I use Firefox 131.0.3, the latest version of Firefox.

Clearing browser cache and/or flushing the DNS does nothing.

Before the latest update, when we needed to bookmark a website, we were able to simply click on the star icon on the right of the URL field and choose location and tags for the new bookmark. Now instead there is no even an option to choose the tags. But instead if we want to add tags, we have through the "bookmark manager" which is much more convoluted as an option and time consuming. Is this change going to be permanent?

Firefox Extension "Tab Session Manager" will not open saved session tabs as a GROUP

From session to session, Tab Session Manager (TSM) displays any tab I have left open when I shut down Firefox. The TSM display of tabs appears in a vertical column (left side of screen) provided by the Firefox extension, Tree Style Tabs. At any time, I have a total of perhaps 600 tabs distributed among four separate windows in TSM, with each window linked to the task bar at screen bottom, letting me choose which window to display, full-screen,

Running Windows 7 64bit SP1, I have had no problems until now displaying any of the four windows, one at a time, in the left column of my screen. Yet, now, I lost one of the windows when starting a Firefox session, and only three windows appear. Trying to recover all of the windows, since I have no menu option other than to restore the entire four window backup, I have clicked on TSM's top menu to restore all four windows. TSM does respond to my single, left-click, but restores only one window of the original four. A right-click of the TSM menu at top right of my screen makes no reference to "restore all windows in selected backup" or "restore all windows in latest saved session".

Essentially, TSM has maintained a perfect record of all TSM backups ever made, each showing date and time, but since TSM now will not restore all windows, my operations in Firefox are crippled. In past incidents when windows have been missing, I have successfully restored all windows of any backup (each backup a set of multiple windows) chosen.

My "brute force" recourse is to restore the entire Windows 7 volume from a very recent image made in the imaging application Macrium Reflect, since all the TSM windows are so valuable to my work. But that does not resolve the TSM failure to restore all of the saved tab collections.

Meantime, I have located the repository of TSM image collections, and have been able to make test backups of large numbers of tabs, and restore them properly and completely. The major problem that remains is restoring all of the tabs from multiple windows contained in the same backup, as I could before. I have tried to reach a TSM community discussion on a GitHub link, but am uncertain where to proceed next.

  • BTW-- to view the entire screen, which is too small to review in the Mozilla Forum popup viewer, open the .PNG image in MS Paint.

I tried looking for the answer but I keep finding questions about whether to open links in new tabs or new windows, and questions regarding whether to open a specific home page or blank page in a new window.

I would like Firefox not to open any window at all when I open it. I might go to Recent websites, or open my History to find a page I've visited last week. Of course if I press cmd-T or cmd-N, that's when I want a new window to open.

When I activate Firefox from another application and I have no windows open, I wouldn't like any new windows to open either.

Is this an option? I'm on Mac OS, Firefox 131.0.3.

Dear Firefox Support Team,

I am writing to seek assistance with a compatibility issue I'm experiencing while attempting to run Python scripts that interact with Firefox via Geckodriver.

Here are the details of my setup:

Operating System: Windows 11 (64-bit) Firefox Version: 131.0.3 (64-bit) Geckodriver Version: geckodriver-v0.35.0-win-aarch64 When I attempt to initialize Geckodriver in my Python script, it fails to launch Firefox, giving the following error message:

"Machine Type Mismatch: The image file Z:\My Drive\python\python Assets\geckodriver-v0.35.0-win-aarch64\geckodriver.exe is valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine."

I downloaded the latest version of Geckodriver (v0.35.0) for Windows (aarch64) assuming compatibility with my setup. However, it seems there might be a mismatch between the architecture of my machine and the Geckodriver executable. I would appreciate any guidance on resolving this issue or recommendations on an appropriate Geckodriver version that would be compatible with my 64-bit Windows 11 system.

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards,

Firefox 131.0.3 (64 bit) Ubuntu Linux CPU % drop dramatically when opening Firefox Task Manger.

While listening to an audio steaming service in tab1 that utilises ~ 58% CPU, opened up Firefox Task Manager in tab2. CPU load drops dramatically to ~ 8% without doing anything to existing processes and all the while audio is still steaming while in tab2. When switching back to tab1 CPU load increases again to ~ 58%. CPU load measured with Linux HTOP app.

Questions: 1. What is the reason for this? Can it have something to do with display card that is maybe used intensively in tab1 and not in tab2? 2. If the above in 1) is true then surely Firefox Task Manager does not measure active CPU loads correctly? 3. Is there any learnings from this to improve overall Firefox performance as standard?

Legacy Hardware: Intel dual core 2.8 Ghz CPU with 4GB Ram. OS: Ubuntu 20.04.06 LTS 64 bit Display card: Nvidia 9500GT Connectivity: WIFI

Hi,

I am using a combination of the Firefox Desktop app on Windows 11 and the Firefox Android app on Android 15 (fully up to date) on a Google Pixel 8a.

Tabs on the phone app are not automatically syncing with the Desktop app. If tabs are open on the app, they are not reflected in the Firefox View tab or within my Desktop Browser History. If I press the Share option within the app, and choose my Desktop device, there is no change on the Desktop app. The only way I have made this work is to click on the Desktop - Account options and click Synchronise Now and then the expected behaviour occurs. I have signed out and logged back in using my Mozilla account and the same issue is occuring.

Is there a way to set it up so that I do not have to manually sync to get shared tabs across 2 devices?

Thanks.

The problem I encounter has happened since I begin to use Firefox on Windows 11. The same problem happened to my Macbook as well, but a workaround is available. While with Windows 11, I can't find the solution anywhere on the web. Whenever I type on the browser, if I write a non-character notation right behind the word (like "this,"), the word would usually auto delete itself or sometimes, the word clone itself out (e.g, wordword, thisthi, etc.) or it deletes a small section of words right behind that non-char. I don't have insert turning on. I am quite uncertain whether you can reproduce this error on your laptop (for me, I have been through 2 windows 11 laptop and this error still persist). This error seems to only occurs for Vietnamese (Telex and VNI) default keyboard from Microsoft, Russian and English work fine. I suspect that it is caused by Microsoft Vietnamese, but I have unchecked all kind of spelling checking on settings. So should I use a third-party Vietnamese language typing for this situation or does it caused by something else?

I'm bi-and a half-lingual with ADD. For me the intrusive automatic translation popup is a nightmare.

I don't want to tell Firefox on a per language basis that I know that language, or on a per website basis that I don't want to translate that website. Please just make it stop! If I want a translation, then let me press a button to get a translation. Don't push it into my face!

This is an accessibility issue. I rely on adblocker to remove similar intrusive content from web sites so I can use the web, but now it's built into the browser itself. This causes unnecessary stress and makes the web less accessible.

Please add and easy to find option in the popup to stop it from ever appearing again, for ant language, on any website.
