I HATE Bing. It took over and all other search engine options disappeared at the same time the search box disappeared. I use GOOGLE. Now It's no where to choose. Some search engine called Tovi took over along with Bing. What the heck is going on Mozilla.

Hi!

It sounds like some potentially unwanted piece of software is modifying your Firefox. Have you performed a malware/unwanted program scan of your computer (your antivirus suite probably has this feature)?

However, I'm not entirely clear on the problem: are you saying that you can no longer see your Firefox search bar? Would you please post a screenshot so we can better visualize the problem? If you need help to create a screenshot, please see How do I create a screenshot of my problem?

Thanks for the clarification!

First, check your system for mal-ware. I will post to your other concerns.

It could be the work of one of your add-ons, or even add / mal-ware. Look thru your add-ons list and make sure you know what each one is there for. Also, check the programs that are on your computer Windows > Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. (Mac: Open the "Applications" folder) Go thru the list and use a web search to check any that you don't know what they are.

Can't find search bar.

Move your mouse to the top of the Firefox window, then right click. You will see a menu of the available toolbars. Select Customize. In the new window, look for the icon. When you find it, hold down the left button on it, and move it to where you want it to be. You can move any of the icons you want from here, but some icons are locked in place.

SearchReset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.
