I can't lose e-mails due to a desktop machine hard drive failure. (Cannot easily set up backup for my hard drive in this office environment.)

However, I do have a secure folder on a nightly backed-up server where I have many folders and files stored. How can I install / configure Thunderbird so all or part is in my server folder ? (ie. if all cannot be on the server, can the the program be on my hard drive, but the e-mails and attachments be on the server?)

TIA, Bill

Hi BillBl.

Thunderbird stores all its data (messages, settings, add-ons, ...) in a profile, which can be easily moved to any location. How to do this? Please see this article.

Second option is to download Thunderbird portable edition from [portableapps.com http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/thunderbird_portable], install it wherever you want and copy there your current profile.
