I have been experiencing severe performance issues with video playback on Youtube. Videos are subject to heavy lagging, and its not just the video, but the entire browser starts lagging. This doesn't happen every time, once every few times. This only occurs on Firefox, and I didn't experience this on Chrome or other browsers. Any help would be appreciated.

My PC had to be reinstalled by our IT-Department. I restored my bookmarks from my Firefox account, but all the tags connected to the bookmarks seem to be lost. Are the tags not synchronized together with the bookmarks?

Before and after synchronization of bookmarks was activated. At least after the re-installation my Firefox is version 133.0.3 which according to Firefox is the latest version. Before the crash automatic updates for Firefox were activated.

I already tried to add a tag for a new bookmark to ensure that tags are displayed in the save bookmark dialogue. No the entry field for tags is displayed, but the tags of the existing bookmarks are still missing.

Is there any way to restore my tags?

In the year 2024, firefox still does not allow a simple way to set any URL you would like as the new tab url (without an extension).

Users were previously able to use extensions like NewTab override to have a relatively seamless experience changing their new tab page. However after certain changes, these said extensions can no longer set your new tab page to a local file, and can also no longer clear and focus the address bar.

I am simply requesting a feature within firefox to set a custom new tab page, without having to create any external configs, or without using any extensions. This basic feature has been available in chromium browsers for years, and firefox already includes a feature just like this for the "Homepage and new windows" setting, where it allows you to input a custom URL to a local file or site to put it as your homepage. However, this same setting for some odd reason does not exist for the "new tabs" option. Why is this?

As of now, I've had to use a manual override along the lines of this:

``` // shenanigans for setting a different new tab page const { classes: Cc, interfaces: Ci, utils: Cu } = Components; const { AboutNewTab } = Cu.import("resource:///modules/AboutNewTab.jsm", {}); // path to new tab can be a url or file const newTabURL = "file:///home/faaris/.local/packages/startpage/fazzi/index.html"; // set the new tab URL AboutNewTab.newTabURL = newTabURL; ```
this should not be needed. Having to modify files in system protected folders should not be needed for such a simple option.
For the past month or two, at random times when I open Firefox, I see a message stating, "Looks like you reinstalled Firefox." To be clear I have not uninstalled Firefox in any instance where this message has been displayed.
When this happens, I’m unable to browse the web. To resolve the issue, I have to remove the uBlock Origin extension and reinstall it. Once I’ve done that, browsing returns to normal. However, I then need to reconfigure my filters and adjust settings within FireFox
I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox to see if that would prevent this issue, but it hasn’t worked.
This problem is specific to my PC—it has never occurred on my MacBook.
Any assistance in understanding why this happens and how to prevent it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
