file recovery after crash

My PC's hard drive crashed and took TBird's data files with it.

However, I created an email backup on an external drive two days earlier. It consists of two folders full of files .

They are: maocg35b.default tcv0srue.default-release

I downloaded Thunderbird from this site and installed it. If someone reading this is absolutely certain how to get the new installation to incorporate these data files, please respond with directions.

On your new system, find the profile with "default-release" in the name.

Copy the CONTENTS of the backup directory with "default-release" in the name, into the new system's "default-release" directory.
