Clear History when Firefox closes in version 133.0.3 for Mac fails to work

No matter what I do when I exit Firefox, the previous browsing history remains so I have to delete it manually.

Looking for help on how to fix this

when using yahoo can't go back in history of a correspondence as I can using yahoo in safari prefer firefox due to back/forth arrows
