Sorry, not really a question, more a request for Thunderbird to behave differently. If this should be posted elsewhere please tell me where.

This option is general and cannot be changed for specific mailboxes. I have one mailbox that receives updates every 45 - 60 seconds so I get constant alerts. Ideally I would be able to turn off alerts for that mailbox and leave them on for the other boxes so I don't miss incoming mail.

Not sure this will do what you want as i've not tested it, but it is worth a look as it does say or no action at all. Mailbox Alert allows you to specify, for each separate mail folder, a message, sound and/or a system command that will be executed when new mail is found there. This way, you specify different actions for less important folders, or no action at all.

Thank you. It is not as elegant as the standard Thunderbird popup but it will do the job.
