Hi. I am using Thunderbird 128.2.1esr(64-bit), most recent update. Recently (about 1-2 months ago approx) some of my emails have started having an attachment that does not belong with it. For example, I just received an email that I know for a fact was not sent with an attachment, however in my inbox it shows that the email has an attachment. It is always the same attachment and is always the same file name, and is a file I received about two years ago. (The fie that gets attached is a legitimate one from a trusted source. It is a pdf file, and is always the same one when it gets attached to incoming emails). I can open the attachment everytime when it shows up, so it is acting like it belongs with the specific email, even though I know it is not supposed to be there. I also noticed that when this happens there is no text in the email message, just the attachment. This happens at random times and does not seem to have any specific pattern. I use a gmail account & am connected by imap. If I go directly to my google inbox the specific email shows as normal, meaning the attachment is not with it, and the text of the email shows up. How can I fix this? I have tried compacting my folders however that has not helped. I have scanned for any malware and the scans show no issues. I do not know what else to do. Email was fine until around 1. Now all of a sudden it won't send outgoing email. It just sits there and spins. This happened last week for few hours, but that was just before the latest thunderbird update. It's annoying.

Hallo Team, bisher hatte ich mit Thunderbird keine Probleme, aber kommt wie aus den nichts immer die Meldung. Anmeldung auf den Server imap.arcor.de mit dem Benutzernamen "f.heben" fehlgeschlagen. Nochmals versuchen. Obwohl ich die Meldung anklicke, erfolgt keine Anmeldung,, sondern der oben genannte Hinweis kommt wieder. Warum? Muss ich etwas reparieren? when I select multiple msgs using the shift-arrow keys and hit delete an error pops up that says "msgs could not be moved or copied to the trash folder because writing to the folder failed. To gain disk spaces, from the file menu, choose empty trash, and then compact folders, and try again"

I've done this and it still does not work. I can delete msgs 1 at a time but when I get so many a day that takes a while.

I've tried reinstalling thunderbird to no avail.

I need to talk or chat with someone who can walk me thru a solution. Your online helps are beyond my comprehension. When I try to send, or reply to, a message, I get a screen saying "Password required for outgoing (SMTP) server.twc.com." HELP!

While transferring Mozilla Thunderbird from my old MAC computer (OS 10.11, TB 78.14) to my new MAC computer (OS 12.7.6, TB 128.1.1) everything went well except that the “inbox” for 2 of my main accounts were not placed at the top of the left hand column with my other account inboxes. I found them in the account “envelopes” at the bottom of that left hand column. 1. How can I move them back to the top of the left column under the “main general inbox”? 2. How can I reorder these inboxes so that my main inboxes are at the top? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

As the title says, when I enable the "Digitally sign" option for OpenPGP in a new mail, I get "Sending of the message failed" when trying to send, but if I disable only this option, then the message sends successfully.

That is the case whether I encrypt or not the message.

The versions of Thunderbird I tried where: 115.14.0 and 128.1.1esr.

Please, explain me (with pictures) what should I do, to be able to read my received emails in Tb

Current version 128.2.1 on Windows 11 and having and having a problem where all current emails with attachments are previewing to an much older email attachment. Tried re installing. This just started recently

Jeg har i adskillige år brugt Mozilla Thunderbird. Har ikke haft problemer før nu. Nu kan jeg pludselig slet ikke åbne den på min pc.( Windows). Fungerer fint på min mobil. (android). Får beskeden: Programmet kunne ikke starte, fordi side om side konfigurationen er forkert. Flere oplysninger i programmets hændelseslogfil eller ved at bruge kommandolinjeværktøjet sxstrace.exe.

Kan ikke se hændelseslogfil når jeg ikke kan åbne den. Kommandopromt siger: sxestrace.exe. ukendt

I have an email contact who uses alias emails to include team members as CC. Such an alias can have the form

  !wawProdAIProjects@domainsample.com

However, the "!" in the local part seems to cause Thunderbird to modify the email address by adding double quotes around the local part:

  "!wawProdAIProjects"@domainsample.com

While both versions seem to be legitimate, my contact's incoming mail server considers the "modified" version with the double quotes as "undeliverable".

So now I am wondering if and how I can stop Thunderbird from adding those double quotes? Any ideas?

Even though [replied in another similar thread] that I have the same issue, I'm making another one 'cause it seems pretty dead.

Since ver 128 Nebula, some mails (sorted in a labeled folder) appear totally white / blank and I don't know why. They appear perfectly fine when viewed from my provider's webmail service (Gandi SOGo), but not in Thunderbird. But here's the thing: they appear fine from the sent folder after I replied to them (via the webmail).

I've already tried restarting in safe mode with all modules disabled, to no success.

Please test yourself in Firefox. If the error is still there, please kindly forward it to the thunderbird.net webmaster. If the error is no longer there, it was fixed, and you can close this ticket.

i cannot import vcards created in outlook 10 into tb address book. cant import single, group or all in single file. cant import windows or outlook contacts file either. using tb 115.15.

I hope you are well. I'm not sure if it's a bug or a problem but here is my problem. My settings are configured such that my sent emails are moved to the folder from where I'm replaying. Now and then the email I just send does not show the content of the email and also does not show anything in the subject or from who it is. The content of the email is random letters and symbols, maybe it shows only the encrypted email for some reason. This problem can not be a device problem because my college ran into the same problem. If I go on my phone (Gmail app) the email in question appears as normal there but not on my Thunderbird app on my laptop. The same problem also appeared from an email received from someone but only happened once or twice.

Please can you assist in solving this problem?

I am unable to attach/send files through other programs or windows - instead of Thunderbird the program will try to use Outlook.

Thunderbird is set as the default map in MAILTO in Windows settings.

This worked fine until recently - I think a windows or Office 365 update may have overriden something, but I cannot find any settings to change to attach and send through Thunderbird.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated

I have just raise a question here - missing folders after xubuntu upgrade, but I accidentally put "xubuntu 22.04" in the headline instead of 24.4. Can't find my way back to edit the question. Profuse apologies.

I tried changing the authentication method to OAUTH2 for my Outlook live mail account (POP). For that, I had to change the server name to office365.com. After restarting Thunderbird, I was able to download new messages but all the old messages already stored in Thunderbird disappeared, even though Thunderbird still shows the same old Local Directory as being used.

How do I change the authentication to OAUTH2 & get my old messages back?

If I delete & again create the Outlook live account, would it effect my old mails/filters ?
