I have set up sync on my primary PC with my email and password and when I try to sync with my Android phone and tablet, it keeps telling me it's an incorrect name and password and I know it isn't.

Any ideas?

PS, New sync system using email and password.

Thanks, whoever can help me.....

Thanks, guigs. That didn't work? Well, to be honest, I wasn't quite sure what we were trying to accomplish. I made sure it wasn't synced to the (deprecated) account, then tried to sync through the regular sync menu, but got the same message; incorrect login and password.....ARGH!! No authentication warning or anything.

Good news, though, I got it to work. I simply unlinked my PC from the sync menu, and resigned up with an alias email. Then, once it confirmed it, I went to my android and it took that one with the password. SOOOOO weird??

So, anyway, all resolved and I can now sync across my devices, but not a great solution if you don't have alias emails that you will need to remember to use in the future.

Hi shadowdlady, Did you set up the account on the new or old sync? If on the new sync, does changing your password change anything as well?

New sync.

I did change my password, actually - tried that. That's how I know that there's a problem as I am 100% positive what my login and password is, but it states it's wrong on my android. SOOOO frustrating as I can't sync them! I am trying to migrate from Chrome but can't use FF if I can't get all my bookmarks to sync.....

Anyone have any other ideas??

Hi shadowdlady, Both are on the new sync and the email and password for the desktop is not working for the android device? In your list of sync accounts on the android device do you have one that says Firefox Sync (deprecated)?

The android will have a certificate that will appear to be syncing until your next try to sync. Please try this:

  1. After making sure it is not (deprecated), manually sync the attached account from the android account sync menu. This should prompt an authentication and you will get a warning that the account is not logged in.
  2. then go to [accounts.firefox.com/signin] and login from there.

That should prompt the new login.
