Hi etsiap, looks like you have a lot of the basics covered. I would say just try fallowing this page . Go in order and use it like a check list. This is odd, let me know if this works.

Did you check your security software to make sure that it isn't blocking the uploading?

- I cannot upload files by way of composing an email and attempting to attach a file from the desktop. - I can drag a desktop item to an new e-mail message and upload (this did not work earlier). -I can use the e-mail client's upload feature as long as the file is not from the the desktop. -Anytime the desktop is accessed via Chrome, Safari, Firefox by way of gmail or yahoo's Attach File, the browser will hang. -If the attach file pop up defaults to the desktop because that is where the last file that was uploaded came from, the browser will hang just by choosing Compose and Attach File.

Does this work if you download Java or Flash?

Update, are popups blocked for these email sites when you try to attach a document. A bit ago there was a pop up blocker warning when I tried to attach an email to a gmail compose window. To add it to the exceptions list you can go to:

1. "3bar" menu > Preferences > Content > Pop ups and click on "Exceptions..."
2. Add the url here and reload the page to see if you can now add an attachment.

Bingo! This solved my problem, "Add the url to pop up exceptions." No more crashing when I choose to attach a file via Yahoo or Google.
