The allow redirect appears and disappears too fast to click on.

I have Firefox 36.0.1 installed and typing in the URL I want it flashes the blocked redirect and allow so fast I can't click on it. Then it brings up CenturyLink's so helpful URL search page. I have disabled the "Ask before redirect" setting, even toggled the about:config setting. The URL does show up in my nslookup but neither my IE or Firefox can bring up the web page. I am going to wordpress to build a site that I registered.

Many of these "helpful" ISP search pages have a tiny link somewhere to opt out of them so that Firefox gets a normal "page not found" result instead of going to the search page. If you can find that, it might help reduce the extent of this problem.

If you have a CenturyLink toolbar, there might be a setting in the toolbar to opt out. If the toolbar doesn't have a visible settings button, you can try the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then find the toolbar on the right and look for an Options button. Or maybe the Disable button is more appropriate in this case.

By the way, the redirect warning feature is very limited and only handles a few of the ways that websites and add-ons can redirect. This may explain why you see the infobar at first but a second type of redirect that isn't intercepted is able to bypass it.
