my e-mail is not downloading to thunderbird, the circle just keeps going around, email is downloading to my phone which is not thunderbird

email has not been downloading since the morning of the 1/3/18 on Thunderbird. The circle just keeps going around and nothing downloads. All email to the same address are coming through on my android cell phone which is not Thunderbird, just standard android mailbox
