it seems like whenever I touch the icon instead of opening up whatever it is it opens up the menu to pin remove delete and so forth

I'm sure some people find your weird separation of saved bookmarks into mobile and desktop folders, but I am not one of them? Is there no way to turn that off in favor of a device agnostic bookmarks collection? Bookmarks almost never just work for me in Firefox because I always have to think about where they might be saved. That's a major point of friction for such a browser.
