i cannot import vcards created in outlook 10 into tb address book. cant import single, group or all in single file. cant import windows or outlook contacts file either. using tb 115.15.

help please.

I hope you are well. I'm not sure if it's a bug or a problem but here is my problem. My settings are configured such that my sent emails are moved to the folder from where I'm replaying. Now and then the email I just send does not show the content of the email and also does not show anything in the subject or from who it is. The content of the email is random letters and symbols, maybe it shows only the encrypted email for some reason. This problem can not be a device problem because my college ran into the same problem. If I go on my phone (Gmail app) the email in question appears as normal there but not on my Thunderbird app on my laptop. The same problem also appeared from an email received from someone but only happened once or twice.

Please can you assist in solving this problem?

I am unable to attach/send files through other programs or windows - instead of Thunderbird the program will try to use Outlook.

Thunderbird is set as the default map in MAILTO in Windows settings.

This worked fine until recently - I think a windows or Office 365 update may have overriden something, but I cannot find any settings to change to attach and send through Thunderbird.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated

I tried changing the authentication method to OAUTH2 for my Outlook live mail account (POP). For that, I had to change the server name to office365.com. After restarting Thunderbird, I was able to download new messages but all the old messages already stored in Thunderbird disappeared, even though Thunderbird still shows the same old Local Directory as being used.

How do I change the authentication to OAUTH2 & get my old messages back?

If I delete & again create the Outlook live account, would it effect my old mails/filters ?

My default browser (Edge) starts when Thunderbird opens requesting a donation. VERY time I start my TBird, the ad pops up again, completely taking over my computer. What needs to be done to prevent Edge opening when TBird opens?

I am makinmg some changes to the accounts on Thunderbird.

When I add an account all goes well until I close Thunderbird. When re-opening the account is not there.

When I delete an account all goes well until I close Thunderbird. When re-opening the account is still there.

Other than that all is working well.

Thunderbird keeps demanding re-enter password after password has been entered and then checked and re-entered multiple times. won't respond to most in put. The problem showed up before my computer was up-graded from windows 10 to Windows 11 a day or so ago.

Hi, We do have some problem upon mail synchronization between CPanale mail ( my mail server) with Thunder bird ( on my laptop). We have found that when we access my mail server ( CPanal ) directly and   delete some mail, that mail ( In my Thunder Bird mail box - upon my Laptop) will be automatically removed from my Thunder Bird mail on my Laptop. I want to delete file from mail server without any automatically synchronize delete file in my Thunder bird. How can i set up Thunder bird?

For five months now I have received 50-70 spam emails a day. I have no password to change in Thunderbird, but should I encrypt or something to get out from under this? They do go to Junk, but still . .

I was sorry to see that the 128 Nebula release did not fix the longstanding problem that Thunderbird is very slow to load in Sonoma, and has been since the Sonoma release. This is with 128.0.1esr (64-bit) on an Apple M1 Mac Mini with Sonoma 14.6. I have the same problem on a 2018 Mac Book Pro running Sonoma with an Intel chip. The problem is NOT manifest on a 2013 Mac Book Pro running the last release of Big Sur. In all 3 cases the same email accounts are loaded, so it is some interaction with the OS. (I previously reported this for Tbird 115 under Sonoma, with no resolution.)

Specifically, when I start Tbird 128 on the Sonoma M1 the window comes up in about 2 seconds but contents are blank. The contents don't fill until about 30 seconds. This makes it painful to quickly hop into email to do something, so I am resorting to Apple Mail when in a hurry. If I do the same on my 2013 Big Sur machine, it's 2 seconds for the window to come up and 8 seconds for the content to fill. Upgrading from 115 to 128 did not change this on any of the machines.

None of the enhancements of recent releases are of sufficient value to compensate for this, so I wish the team would focus on ensuring speed on all platforms. Is there any clue what is going on?

Previously all of the email accounts created in thunderbird worked flawlessly, one day when checking email automatically a seperate window opened displaying the error "Access Denied", I searched the net for a solution and could not find one, it is very possible that one of the most recent linux updates may have changed something as I recall a larger than normal update just before this occurred a few days ago.

For about a month now Thunderbird has been taking sent emails and doing one of several things. 1. Replacing the text with lines and lines of numbers and letters, 2. Removing the "From" and "Subject" lines and the message, leaving the message blank, BUT adding an attachment that has nothing to do with the recipient; 3. Sending some sent messages to trash after I have tagged them. I use emails like a paper trail, to check, to see if there are any emails I am still waiting to hear an answer back on, etc. Thunderbird has been my favorite email client since I was first told about it. How to automatically backup Thunderbird profile on a schedule?

Here is what I did. Does anyone have a better way?

I use GoodSync like this: I installed GoodSync. I created a new Job in GoodSync to Backup Thunderbird profile to a location I chose. Then I set up a task in task scheduler I then put this in the Program Script of the Action tab: "C:\Program Files\Siber Systems\GoodSync\gsync.exe" Then I proceeded to set up a schedule to run GoodSync I run it each evening. It works very well.

Better suggestions are welcome.

I have a sub folder for Receipts. That folder had years of receipts in it. Today I reviewed a confirmation message for an order. I replied to that message and instantly the contents of that folder went down to only two messages and the sent folder emptied. What the F happened, and where are those messages now?
