I have Network Solutions email that refuses to link to Outlook as an IMAP, will Thunderbird potentially encounter similar problems?

My new email address through Network Solutions works fine on my phone and my desktop via webmail, but I cannot connect it to Outlook on my desktop computer despite days of trying and searching forums and talking to customer support. Initially I connected it to my computer as a POP, but the problem is that it doesn't sync across my devices. So I deleted the account and tried to set it up as IMAP via Outlook 2016, and it failed. The problem with my phone and webmail is that I only see a limited number of emails. I need to have access at all times to all my emails. If I install Thunderbird on my Windows 7, will I potentially face the same problems trying to set it up as IMAP? I don't want POP because it doesn't sync, I need my emails to sync across all devices. I am not a techie, but trying to understand all the terms that I can.

Looking at the network solutions website:

http://www.networksolutions.com/support/pop-imap-settings

I can't see any reason why it shouldn't work with Thunderbird.

The last time I looked at Outlook, it used some unusual terminology which was difficult to interpret compared with the settings offered by other email clients and by email providers.

The automatic detection of account settings may have trouble with your personalized server names, and if so, you'll have to enter these by hand.
