Pages from links refuse to load. They cycle on the load bar.
Having lots of issues with Firefox at the moment, from the browser taking 5 minutes before my home page will even load to this issue which is making me second guess using this browser and i cant seem to find an answer in the help suggestions as im not getting any error codes or anything to point to what is the problem.
When i click on a link - a safe link (even FF states its secure) The new browser tab's link will just constantly cycle loading without loading. Ive tried clearing cache and cookies and it makes no difference.
Ive tried turning off my adblocker and other safety extensions. No difference.
Now yes i am running an old system, but i checked to see if Firefox works on it and it does ( Windows8.1) i started using this as chrome is no longer supported on there.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support to see if that has effect.
To note- ALL the links that do not work in Firefox, work perfectly fine when accessed through Chrome.
Also these are links held so either within an email (eg a link to unsubscribe from email list) or through Facebook - a link to a news article or in one case prevented me from paying for something as it simply kept loading rather than let the payment go through. I had no issues with any of these through Chrome itself.
Not working in Firefox... Can you show us what that means? Show the issue.
Do the links that fail have the http:// protocol as Firefox upgrading such a link to secure https:// could be a possible cause.
Can you open such a link directly in a Firefox tab via copy/paste in the location bar?
I include a screen shot of the example I mentioned earlier. This example is when i clicked on an unsubscribe button from an email from the company Linktree.
Included another screenshot of another example - trying to access a website from facebook (Not all links react this way btw) I have tried copy pasting the link to a new tab, a new page and a private tab and this still happens. The only way i can access the article is by taking the subject matter and website and searching for it. The direct link to the article works fine.

You can check the Network Monitor to see if content fails to load.
If necessary use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" (Mac: Command+Shift+R) to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.
Tried but couldn't find the wrench icon in the network panel..but i did find this when trying to open another facebook link - It seems even the Network monitor is effected Ive added a video to show what i mean here as i cant seem to upload a video https://imgur.com/SOxfy8r
