I have to use Internet Explored to download .pdf's...but, this is inconvenient...and want to be able to do these downloads while in firefox. Ok?

The version of Adobe Reader which you have installed is too old to work with current technology. You need to perform a simple update by going to http://get.adobe.com/reader/?promoid=BUIGO

After you update that. please go to the Plugins Check page and update where necessary. Some of your existing plugins potentially expose your system to attack.
