I run Thunderbird on a PC, and, to free up space on Drive C:, I have moved the contents of the folder Thunderbird in Appdata to Drive D:. I then changed my Server Settings, in Thunderbird, from C: to D:, and note that any new mail is indeed now appearing there along with those already transferred. This move could save me a valuable 6 gig of space, and more in the future, however, I am unable to remove that original Thunderbird folder entirely, notably I am unable to remove the contents of the Profiles folder, as it is still linked to the application. Notably with cookies.sqlite, cookies.sqlite-shm, store.json, mozlz4, aborted-session-ping and many others, which I note some have continued to be updated. I have been unable to find any other settings in Thunderbird referring to Drive C:, other than those in Server Settings.

I could presume that if I installed another version of Thunderbird on Drive D: and maybe moved those existing contents of the Thunderbird folder on C: onto Drive D:, and made those numerous settings changes to the App it could work. But I ask is there an easier way to complete this move? How can I complete this transition of Thunderbird from Drive C: to Drive D:?

I recently started to receive this error message: The folder 'Inbox on gassajx@xxxx.com' could not be compacted because writing to folder failed. Verify that you have enough disk space, and that you have write privileges to the file system, then try again." I have over 300 GB free disk space and full control of the file system. How can I make compacting folders work again?

Been following the steps on this page -- https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new -- but I don't get the toolbar selection.

I don't get the right menu list shown there. See the attachment which shows what I get when I right click on "Unified toolbar."

Am I using a different version 128.2.0esr?

Disable message list pane resizing when using TB in vertical view layout

Hello,

I've been looking for a way to disable the column resizing when resizing the window. I would much prefer the Message Pane to resize instead of the Message List.

Current situation:

- Set to Vertical Layout: Message List is on the left of the Message Pane.
- Resize TB's window: the last column of the Message List grows to compensate the extra space and all columns shrink if window size is reduced beyond a certain threshold.

Preferred situation:

- Resizing the TB's window changes the Message Pane size and does not affect the Message List columns.

I am constantly constantly adjusting column sizes to compensate when I connect to an external screen or when maximizing TB. I can't find a preference to change this behavior. Fixing the Message List columns sizes and adjusting the Message Pane size would be much better and more natural. If I compare to browsers, toolbars and sidebars are always fixed size while the webpage adjusts to the new window size, especially when changing screens. The same should be possible in TB.

Best

Hi there

My accent colour for my PC is a kind of lime green which I like. The blue of Mozilla Thunderbird worked really well with that green. The recent update has changed the colour of Thunderbird to a bright lime green which I really don't like. Is there anyway of keeping my PC accent colour whilst reverting Thunderbird to it's traditional blue colour please?

Kind regards Paul

Thunderbird 128.2: Hide column picker of the message list pane

First I'm living in Munich (Germany) and my English - how to say it - could be better. Therefore forgive my mistakes.

I installed Thunderbird 128.2.0esr (64 bit, German language) on Windows 10 to check it out as an alternative to MS Outlook. So far I like what I see and I will probably switch.

One small thing is the column picker button on the right side of the message list pane. I assume - after setting up Thunderbird - it will be rarely used - there is also the alternative by using the right mouse button on any of the columns - but it takes column space. Is it possible to hide/remove the column picker?

In my humble opinion above - next to "display options for message list pane" - would be a better place.

Thank you very much, Reinhard

(Just upgraded to 128.2 64 bit - but I can't find the selection screen shown on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/unified-toolbar.

I want to have a clickable shortcut to Next Message. Why? Because as I'm reading and reply to some of the messages, I have the mouse in my hand. It's a pain to switch to the keyboard to hit N or F. And I always forget the letter to go to the previous message.

Also -- after I delete a message that I just read from the trashcan icon, despite having more messages to read, even in a thread, the view goes back to the Inbox. I'd want to see the next email, not the list. For all its advanced features, this seems to be basic email reading. Maybe I missed an option?

OK. When on TB 115.x I could search my calendar with a keyword and the Events "description" would be included in that search. With 128 it would appear that only the event title is searched and I can find no setting that allows me to include the 'description' in the search.

Have I missed something obvious or has the 'search' changed in some way (i.e. become inferior!).

Any information appreciated. Oh, I 'upgraded' from 115 to 128 rather than a fresh install, if that matters ....

Ta.
