Hi

I want to remove an old email address which is now closed from Thunderbird , but i want to keep the emails and have access to them.

I can see how to remove an email account but where do the emails go and how can i access them.

I assume one solution would be to move all the emails to a folder within another account - is this the simplest / best option

You can move all messages from the account to be deleted to your 'Local Folders' account or any other account you may have. Note, in case you move them to another account which happens to be an IMAP one, those messages would be uploaded to the server.
