Hi

Some pages makes themselves available as a Progressive Web App - an almost app like experience from a web page (you can read the details of this at: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Progressive_web_apps).

If you just want to have them as a shortcut, the easiest way is to open the page in Firefox for Android, turn off WiFi and mobile data, and then save is as a shortcut to your Android homescreen.

My problem was that a website that I manage, was not updating properly when I clicked its icon on the home screen. I never prepared this website as a web app, with json mainfest and so on, so I'm wondering why it gets this special treatment from Firefox. Anyway, thanks for the tip.
