I tell FF on my computer to sync by clicking the "I have an account" box. A screen pops up with three fields with numbers and letters. I then go to the sync option in my phone where I'm supposed to enter that information, and I'm given more numbers/letters to put in my computer. I know that sometime ago I set up sync, but it isn't connecting now, and I need to know how to flush the system and start over.

Both devices need to be online at the same time if you want to pair a device with the (3x4) 12-character code.

Sync needs to be set up and working on at least one (desktop) computer, so you can enter the 12-character code, provided by the device (computer) that you want to pair, in three fields to pair a device on the computer that has a working Sync setup.

Enter all details like the account name (email address) and password and the 26-character Sync key manually to connect to an existing sync account instead of using the 12-character code to pair a device if pairing isn't possible.

  1. open "Tools > Options > Sync" or "Firefox > Set Up Sync"
  2. click "Set Up Firefox Sync" to go to "Firefox Sync Setup"
  3. click "I Have an Account" : Connect
  4. click "I don't have the device with me" at the bottom to enter the account settings (email, password, sync key)

I already have an account synced to one phone. I want to sync another android but can't get to the Firefox sync Setup page. When I go to Tools>Options>Sync I only see the original account. There is no Sync setup and no I Have an Account. I just want 2 different phone synced to Mozilla Firefox and can't figure out how or even IF I can do that.

Seriously. Why is this so dang hard to do? Would it be so difficult to include screen shots of what the steps should look like. Remember kids, FF won't allow you to open another FF so you can read the steps on one while doing the work in another. I suggest crazy words like 'on your desktop' and 'on your phone' are accurate enough for the purposes for setting up the synch. I'm sorry, but the Google synch is far and above easier to use (granted that's probably so 'those guys' can make it easier to read what you're doing--but that's another matter). I have spent too much time on this to get it to work properly. Can you believe that I tried to correctly follow the steps, but when I got to the simple step of entering my 12-digit key code (not the 3 boxes), I added it as well as my email and passord--everything went super-dee-duper until I foolishly pressed the 'next' button. Silly me, I thought it would work then. Hahaha! Crazy. A message popped up saying my key was incorrect. Even though I had just a moment before copied and pasted it into the box. Ahhh...what to do? Anywho. If you're up to the challenge of trying to set up easier directions that will work successfully (no, messages of wrong code don't count), please post. Otherwise, I'll join the sheep using Google sync. Baaaaaaa Baaaaaaa
