I removed my gmail account but there are maps in ImapMail maps related to this account
I use MozBackup to back up my Thunderbird (that manage abt 10 e-mail addresses) . The backups are huge over 10gb. I removed and installed again (several times) my Gmail account and tried backup but the size of the backup is the same. I watched the status line of MozBackup and discovered that it backing up several Gmail maps. I did not expected that because I removed Gmail account. When I looked into: aplicationdata/thunderbird/profiles ,,,, /Imapmail and I discovered several maps called something like: imap.gmail-1.com imap.gmail-2.com imap.gmail-3.com Each map is big 3-5GB.

There are also other maps with names pointing to earlier removed accounts. I would like to erase everything that belongs to obsolete and removed e-mail accounts.
Is it possible to simple erase those maps by hand?
Thanks and regards

Yes, removing an account from Thunderbird leaves the message store behind.
The smart thing to do is to note the location stored under "Local Directory" in the account before removing the account, then you can quickly locate the corresponding data subdirectory and delete it via your file manager.
Since you have already deleted the account, you may have to do some detective work to identify which folder(s) in Thunderbird hold the data for that account. File timestamps, filenames and searches for content can all play a part. The Config Editor window in Thunderbird may also help you to connect an account with its storage.
Hi! Thank you. I will try that ASAP. All the best Amaterissimus
