Disable credit card and payment method syncing across devices

Firefox Sync lets you access data such as bookmarks, history, logins and passwords, and credit cards or payment methods on other devices when you are signed in with your Mozilla account. To disable sync for sensitive data like credit cardspayment methods to prevent purchases on a shared device, follow the steps below:

  1. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox and then select Preferences or Settings, depending on your macOS version.Click the menu button Fx89menuButton and select Settings.
  2. Click Sync in the options to the left.
    • In these settings, you can choose what items to sync across devices when you signed in with your Mozilla account.
  3. If syncing is ON, then you're syncing the items that appear in the panel.
  4. Click Change… to open the Choose What To Sync dialog.
  5. Uncheck the box next to Credit cardsPayment methods to stop syncing this data across devices.

  6. Click Save Changes.

Additionally, you can disable credit card autofilldisable payment methods autofill to prevent Firefox from filling in your credit card information on the device where this data is saved.

We recommend that users create a Mozilla account for each member of the family and to sign out every time, to prevent credit card information or other sensitive data from being exposed.
