I got a new ISP recently and added my new email address to Thunderbird. My "Inbox" has an arrow to the left that identifies it as a main folder (similar to the arrow that displays at the left of each email account name).

I cannot get the Sent, Drafts, Spam or Trash folders to display unless I click the arrow next to Inbox. There they appear as subfolders to the inbox. I have tried to move the folders by dragging them above or below "Inbox" but they will not move that way. All righty then! While I was searching previous questions I saw a post by someone saying that Trash should not be moved to be a subfolder of Inbox, so I thought maybe there was an issue with things being arranged that way. Your response makes me think it's fine to leave well enough alone. I am able to view messages I sent with SentMail being a subfolder of Inbox. Thanks for your post.
