I had a bunch of tabs opened ( I normally do and it works fine..). Firefox crashed and in reopening I tried restoring tabs and it re-crashed.. I reopened and it tried restoring tabs of restore tabs and shortly crashed again.. I then deleted Firefox icon from Applications as well as <~/Library/Preferences/org.mozilla.firefox.plist>. I kept the app support file. I proceeded to download the latest version of firefox and in opening it it showed the "restore sessions".. I tried starting from scratch but shortly after it stopped responding and crashed.. I then attempted to open it in Safe Mode ticking off almost everything except the delete bookmarks and shortly after opening it crashed. Now I am here.. Stuck. Am completely unable to use Firefox. Yay for Safari?.. Please help. Thanks in advance.

The linked crash report is empty (@ EMPTY: no crashing thread identified; corrupt dump) and doesn't include any data, so it is not possible to find the cause of the crash.

Did you recently submitted other crash reports that do show a crashing thread?

Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

That was the most recent crash report.. All of the others are just offer the bp number... this is the first of the crashes - Crash ID: bp-2db93df7-4451-4923-b4a7-0c9d62120326

Although in opening Firefox again looking to provide you with a new crash id.. Surprisingly Firefox did not Crash :) I don't know what it is due to but has been open and running for the last 5 mins.. Seems like problem solved somehow.. Thanks!

Having to view these forums with Chrome since FF cannot seem to remain stable for more than a few minutes. Switched off all addons and extensions, and it just keeps crashing. Using more bandwidth sending crash reports than browsing the internet!!

Looking at the number of crash related chatter relating to Firefox, it seems to be a problem at the heart of the browser, not on a per user instance. Ever since Mozilla decided to get all 'clever' with the browser, it has turned into a nightmare to use.

Bye..bye FF...hello Chrome.
