Migrating Zimbra Webmail Account into Thunderbird

Hello support,

As my current Zimbra Webmail account is due to expire, I was wondering if I would be able to migrate/mirror this account using Mozilla Thunderbird, while keeping the original Inbox hierarchy i.e. all folders and sub-folders that exist can be seamlessly transferred with all of their labels and associated email message content. I would also like to be able to migrate the Sent folder with its respective content.

I've been able to download the Zimbra .tgz file and have extracted files and folders to my PC and have been frustratingly trying to figure out how to import the folder labels/hierarchy/respective email content into GMail, but with no success albeit having successfully imported the Zimbra Webmail account (POP3) into GMail.

Many thanks for your consideration, Frank

IMAP works best for synchronising the folders (and hierarchy) between client and server. Add your Zimbra account as an IMAP account in Thunderbird. Get the imap server settings from your Zimbra server admin.
