For the past 2weeks when I want a link to open in another tab, it takes me directly to that new tab. And I don't have it under that option. Its just suppose to open link in the new tab, not take me directly there, so I can still stay on the current page I am on. This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

That didn't work for me. To be honest I'm getting a bit hacked off searching for a solution to regain basic functionality. Very close to going back to Internet Explorer. Didn't think I'd ever say that.
