Hi, Running Windows XP (SP3) and used FF for a few years now. Downloaded FF4 3 days ago, and since then machine runs slow(er) and the search box seems reluctant to use the history from the Search Box (Google toolbar installed as usual and before). Have uninstalled FF4 and reinstalled FF3.6.16, and everything seems fine now. Is it me, Windows XP or Firefox?

Regards, Chris Mickley

Possibly some problem on your setup. Firefox 4 is supposed to be faster. One thing to consider is experimenting with firefox 4 hardware acceleration setting, try turning it off, and checking any video drivers are up-to-date.

I have both versions installed, with no problems, on XP machines.

Of course some firefox extensions may still be incompatible, one reason I have dual versions installed on the same machines.

Are you using the Google Toolbar for firefox, or are you using the Google Desktop I do not use these. (one of my machines is FAT32, and iirc the Google Desktop requires NTFS ) I will leave it to others to comment on firefox 4 and Google.
