Hello,

I work in the IT department and im trying to figure out a way to transfer Fire Fox print setting from one user to another users profile. to give you more on the background of my issue we just deployed a new application that is web based and in order to print receipt from a receipt printer from the application you need to configure the print setting with in Firefox.

The Firefox configuration that we need to configure are the following steps in order to print receipt with the right margins and headers and so forth:

2. Click on Firefox configuration icon (three parallel horizontal lines) 3. Click on the Print icon 4. Click the Page Setup... button to open Page Setup window 5. Click Margins & Header/Footer tab 6. Enter Top margin of 0.0 and Bottom margin of 0.0 7. Select blank in each Header & Footer option 8. Click OK to close Page Setup window 9. Click Close button to close Firefox configuration window

I need to be able copy these setting and transfer it to multiple users, these configuration are only User based.

so far i found the Mozilla Profile Folder located in my user folder and i found that prefs.js file holds the printer setting for Fire Fox, but when i change the setting on FireFox the setting in that file does not change.

Does anyone know a alternative. because coping over the Mozilla Firefox profile folder or the prefs.js doesn't work?

If the changed Page Setup settings survive exiting and restarting Firefox, they must be in prefs.js somewhere. There often are multiple top margin (etc.) settings in prefs.js and/or the about:config preferences editor because they are saved on a printer-by-printer basis. Can you find the ones you are looking for?

Rather than overwrite a user's prefs.js file, you could consider distributing a user.js file. These are seldom used by actual users. You also could look into an AutoConfig file. For reference:
