I am having an issue with my email page. They are slow to load and even slower to delete, one at a time or spam list (red highlight). Also doesn't allow some emails to load and they are well know addresses. Any thoughts as to what happened? Thank you, Dean

I am a brand new user....for 2 days. Converting from Outlook.

How do I import my kids schedules from GameChanger and Sports Engine? I'm trying to add a new account, then I put the link provided by each platform, and then it asks me for a password. I have no idea what password it's asking me to provide?

I really need these calendars to sync in order for this to be the place for my life to be organized!

Additionally, my daughter's volleyball team created a Google Calendar and shared it with us. How do I sync that?

It's been a week now and Thunderbird still isn't working 100%. I managed to install one of my email accounts ( Talktalk ) with no issues but it still not working properly. I can't ad my Hotmail email and all my log in details are correct. The problem is I never get the dialogue box which gives you options all I get is a small white box with a cross and that's it ! I just don't get a choice to do anything and I think this is why I can't install my Hotmail email account. The options box may be asking for an 0Auth2 code but I can't see it so I'm assuming there is an issue with the Thunderbird app ! I have a Chromebook and have installed Thunderbird about 25 times using Linux but always end up with the same problem ! Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Sometime this afternoon (15 Nov 2024 GMT) T'bird starting downloading almost messages going back to 11:33am on 6 March 2019. My inbox has either a read and unread version of each email, or two unread if I hadn't read the original. Some are not duplicated, but I haven't yet been able to discern a pattern.

This is POP.

T'bird version is now 128.4.3esr (32-bit). I just updated in the hope that there might be a fix in there. The previous version was 128.4.1esr I think. Certainly very recent.

Running on Windows 11.

Two questions: 1) how do I stop this happening? 2) is there a way I can selectively delete all the dupes?

This behavior started a week or so ago, and then stopped. Unfortunately, I found it to be quite a productivity improvement and would like it back. Can anyone:

- explain why it started
- explain why it stopped
- explain how I can make it permanent?

While there are over 90 emails on the Comcast server so far this morning, only 1 has been downloaded. I tried repairing the folders but no change. While I can save chunks of email on the server, my import of a zip file of them is not working. This has continued to be a problem for over 48 hours. I am using Thunderbird 128.4.3 under Windows 11 Pro 23H2.

I can see notifications of emails downloading from the server but nothing is posted on my machine. This process repeats each time I start up Thunderbird but no new emails are accessible, either from Comcast or Gmail. Emails are coming in fine on my iPhone but not on to my ThinkPad where I download and store them off the Comcast server.

Two days ago there were thousands of past emails on the server going back to earlier this year but they are all gone now. I have found it impossible to access Comcast's technical support for their help in solving this problem.

I am rebuilding the global-messages database which was over 7 gigabytes in size. Should I remove the account and reinstall it? Any suggestions?

I've used the desktop client on Linux for quite a while now and I'm pretty happy with it but when it comes to mobile, Gmail is the main app. Today, I downloaded the Thunderbird Android app and tried the export from desktop to mobile feature. I had 2 QR codes but only the first one worked. That was a bit heart breaking.

The first issue is this; the desktop client allows for on-the-fly email alias creation (directly in the From field) and it's smart enough to reply with an on-the-fly alias (no related identity). This one feature of the hundreds available is the only real reason Thunderbird is quite valuable on the desktop.

This feature (on-the-fly aliases) is not available on Android. Will this change? Please consider adding it as a feature? Maybe try to make the "From" field also editable rather than only choosing from a list of identities?

The second issue is, "Manage Folders". I could not find a way to create a folder and I looked pretty hard. I feel like its there and maybe I'm just old, stupid or both. But after almost 10 minutes looking for a way to add a folder, I just failed and gave up.

Is creating new folders on Android possible at the moment?

In summary. Thunderbird on Android. On-the-fly email aliases (new and replies) is a pretty big deal, is this on a todo? And, is creating new folders possible and if not, is this on a todo?

PS. I thank the Thunderbird team for the Android app. It's fast and responsive and although Gmail is still unfortunately required on Android, I'm really looking forward to Thunderbird winning here.

Today I noticed a new problem on my MacBook Pro. I selected a group of messages and tried to move them to a new folder using drag and drop. No matter how many or how few I select, only one email is moved. I tried a few different actions and noticed that similarly I can only delete one email at a time. All actions on a multiple selection are only being operated on one item. I've tried closing and reopening Thunderbird and rebooting the computer. I have moved emails in this manor countless times in the past with no problem.

Previously the yellow banner with the text "To protect your privacy, Thunderbird has blocked remote content in this message" had an Options button which allowed me to click "show remote content" or allow subdomains to permanently show remote content. That options button is now missing, and there's only a X button to close the warning banner.

My Privacy settings has "Allow remote content in message" unchecked and there are no Exceptions. On mobile Thunderbird I can still "show remote images" successfully.

Could we get a tool to lock folders in Thunderbird ? Or a warning before moving folders with drag and drop.

Pretty much what https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/addon/disable-draganddrop-tb-v2/ is probably doing - I'm just a bit worried to use addons that requires a permission: "Have full, unrestricted access to Thunderbird, and your computer"

I think this would be a welcome addition to many, especially those whom use IMAP like Gmail to use their mail account. If you accidentally drag a folder into another it can result a huge mess.

At the very least there should be an optional feature to get a warning message "Are you sure you wish to move this folder ..."

Hi I am emailing from thunderbird from 2 seperate accounts. the emails are being sent from the accounts and being received on the accounts okay as I can see them on my laptop. But today apple iphone email app is not opening the ocntent, all I get is an empty email with 2 attachments that can be downloaded but I cant see the text content..!? I really need to send something to my phone!

The messenger.messages.listAttachments() function fails when an email without a body that has an encrypted attachment named "message.asc" is included. There's no other information included and requires user to have the appropriate PGP key imported before having access to the attachment. It is fair but I think there should be a flag/option called "decrypt" similar to https://webextension-api.thunderbird.net/en/latest/messages.html#getfull-messageid-options.

Context: We are developing a PGP Mail Extension for Thunderbird and this prevents us from accessing the encrypted attachment and requires us to import the PGP private key just to access the file. I am expecting to at least let us access the encrypted "message.asc" file and proceed process without requiring to have the PGP key imported into the Thunderbird.

Steps to reproduce:

1. PGP encrypt a message and save it to message.asc. 2. Send the message using Thunderbird client as follow: - add a subject. - add the message.asc as an attachment. - leave the email body blank. - send the email. 3. Install a debug attachment that uses `messenger.messages.listAttachments()` and noticed that it won't return any attachments at all. The error will say, error decrypting message x (where x is messageId) even though the error actually happens in messenger.messages.listAttachments(x) and messages.getFull() uses decrypt set to "true" option.

Hello everyone, I am in despair. Since few months now, Thunderbird became very slow and it is blocking me more and more in everyday life, particularly with my yahoo account.

I have the latest version installed 128.4.3 and work on WIN 11 PRO.

Alla the time, thunderbird in blocked and the message "Thunderbird is not responding" appears and it takes very long until I can use it (several minutes).

Beside, I installed OUTLOOK, to check if it was coming from my email server but it works fine on OUTLOOK, so my guess is that the problem comes from THUNDERBIRD.

Does anybody has some intel on this kind of problem and how to solve it?

I'm looking for two features:

On minimizing window, thunderbird should minimize normally to taskbar as programs usually do. (This happens if the 'move it to tray' feature is disabled)

On closing the window, thunderbird should minimize as icon to the notification area tray. (This happens if the 'move it to tray' feature is enabled)

I think this should be an option integrated in thunderbird settings, if not to be the default behavior

i haven't found any extension to solve this yet and it is a little bit annoying when I use many windows and press alt-tab when thunderbird is minimized to the tray with x or - button when using the addon not to close thunderbird when pressing x, so it won't appear alongside other windows and i have to reclick the tray icon to show it again

I want to have both abilities to minimize to tray and minimize to TB at the same time

I believe that mail client has to be always running even if I press x button, unless I press Quit from inside the app
