Had FireFox 55.0 - 32-bit and followed the Mozilla instructions to change to FF 64-bit as my OS is Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. I had problems before when updating to FF 56. NOthing would load, not even FF browser. After 4 tries, I just settled for the good ol' 55 through a system restore each time. Found on a support page that the updating doesn't work with a 32-bit. Since FF had been very, very slow loading each time I started the browser, I thought, OK, I'll go to the 64-bit. Now after following Mozilla's instructions, downloading 57.0.4 and uninstalling the Mozilla x86 (?) through the uninstall program, FF starts just fine. But, that's it. It starts, but won't load my homepage which is my.yahoo.com nor will it load any of my bookmark links, NOTHING. Even when typing in the website URL myself, nothing. When typing in 'search' and entering, nothing. I"m at my wits end about what to do. I do OK on a PC with general problems, but not messing with the registry, config, etc. Anybody have a solution? I'd just go back to what I had earlier today, but since Mozilla said to uninstall the former 55.0, that's gone.

That's frustrating. Does 64-bit Firefox 57 display any error messages or does it just ignore all efforts to open a page?

Did Firefox 57 keep your bookmarks from Firefox 55, and do those work any better than the address bar/search bar? I see those don't work either...

If you want to try 32-bit Firefox 57, you can download an installer from this page (the regular Windows column is 32-bit):

https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Thanks, jscher2000. Used the link you provided, but it installed Firefox 52.5.3 instead of 57. Before the problems, I had FF version 55. (something), so the install went back further than the previous one. But, I'm now up and running and all is working as I want. Again, thanks so much for your help as I was pulling my gray hair out.
