moving emais to new machine after normal transfer or AV has left an inbox folder empty on a mac

How to copy inbox content so I can paste it into an inbox on a new machine. It looks like the AV has deleted the entire contents of the new machine inbox. Old machine is a mac running Thunderbird 78.14.0 on El Capitan. The new machine is Mac running Sonoma 14.6.1 with Thunderbird 115.14. Thanks, Richard
