I can no longer upload .pdf files into the federal CM/ECF filing system, which I was able to do through Firefox (for years) until about three weeks ago.

Filings in federal court are required to be done electronically, by uploading .pdfs into through the CM/ECF system. After having no problems doing so with Firefox for years, about three weeks ago, I was not able to do so, because the "Browse" choice in the CM/ECF sequence would show all .pdf files ghosted (as well as .doc Word files), although it would show .jpg files as available for upload.

The Bankruptcy Court announced a few months ago that updated versions of Firefox would not work with the ECF system. You have to download an older version of Firefox. I was able to download Firefox 3.6.19 and I run that only for bankruptcy filings.

I know it doesn't make sense, but it works.

Many people are evidently having the same trouble. I have no idea why the court system doesn't run software that works with the latest versions of Firefox. Or why the latest versions of Firefox don't work with the courts.

I'm looking for a way to notify Firefox and to ask them to fix.

Incidentally, over Labor Day weekend, the Bankruptcy Court - at least in Oregon - did a major software overhaul. But they didn't fix the Firefox issue.
