The error message appeared as soon as I first installed the latest version and refers to Java script. It pops up every time I open the browser.I have uninstalled and re-installed four times. However the browser seems to work well and I would like to keep it. What is the problem and how do I get rid of the message? Screenshot enclosed. RegT

thanks for following up. are you using firefox in an enterprise environment? if yes please contact your it admin as the central configuration they are using for firefox looks like it's breaking. otherwise you could manually delete the firefox program folder and reinstall firefox which should fix this problem...

Hi TyDraniu, Thanks for your suggestion and I did as you said. I submitted the screen shot and although I did not get any info, the next time I opened Firefox there was no error message. It looks as if an update has been applied and I can go back to enjoying the new version of our favourite browser. Many thanks to you all RegT

Guess what happened next !!! Today I opened Firefox and the error message reappeared. Just why I had a clear run last night is a mystery and I am going back to Mike Kaply for more info. Will keep you advised until this is solved. RegT

Why don't you just remove it? Ask Mike, how to.

Hi all, Well it has been resolved. I was advised to open Firefox in safe mode, close down and then openit normally. It works,at least it has worked for the last few times !! If you have the " error message" problem, give it a try. Best wishes RegT

Try to reboot the computer to see if that has effect.

Hi cor-el, In spite of my optimism my error message problem has returned again this morning.I have tried your suggestion of re-booting and also booting in safe mode, but to no avail. I now feel certain that my laptop which I am using has at one time had the CCK2 prog installed. Although this has long gone there may be remnants left somewhere on the hard drive Incidently the message does not appear on my desktop computer, just the laptop. I will now try the suggestion, made by TyDraniu (see above) and ask Mike Kaply how to just remove it. I will let you know how that goes. RegT

Hi all, I think freshdesk has given up on me,probably because of my ignorance. I have just discovered,by looking, that the Mozilla Firefox already has the cck2 program installed, so there must be an easy way for me to get rid of the persistant error message. Why has no one picked up on this? I will wait over the weekend to see if anyone can give me the solution before I un-install Firefox for good. Sorry for my short fuse but I feel such a fool. Apologies to you all RegT
