I'm single clicking a single email message to highlight and delete. When I click the delete button, Thunderbird is deleting the highlighted message and the next message below, even though I didn't click or highlight that message.

Additionally, Thunderbird has been opening multiple messages on a single click, even if I have only one highlighted. This only started occurring on July 21.

If you select a message and press delete does just that message get deleted? If so try a different mouse. Yours might be going bad and issuing a double click when you single click.

No, if I select a message and click delete, it is regularly (not every time) deleting two messages.

Sorry I meant to same press delete on your keyboard. I had this same issue and it was my mouse.

I haven't had that issue with my keyboard. I'll replace the batteries in my mouse first and see if that may be the cause, before replacing the mouse.
